Getting Started

Here’s your guide to getting started with GoalCheck.in! Follow these simple steps and you will be a pro in no time!

The 4 Stages of a Goal: Build. Launch. Fly. Land.

Every goal goes through 4 stages during its life: Build, Launch, Fly, Land. Each stage has different activities, and allows you to drive each goal towards accomplishment.

  • Build: Is a space to define your goals
  • Launch: Helps you plan the goal with others
  • Fly: Supports your work towards completing the goal
  • Land: Provides learning and preparation for the next goals

When you build goals, you have a personal canvas where you can draw up your goals. This area is private and won’t be shared with others.

Click the “Build” tab to start building goals.

On Slack

  • Use the slash command /GoalCheck.in New
  • Follow the prompts in your GoalCheckIn app channel to enter the Goal and Key Results

Launching Goals

When you Launch a goal, it allows you to plan the goal to be a success, by helping you establish when the goal is accomplished, who is helping, and how they help.

Click on the “Launch” tab and then click on a goal to get guided through the launch workflow.

By default, the Launch sequence guides you to set up the following:

  • Goal Duration
  • Goal Circle (Contributors and Advisors)
    • Contributors are people who will help and participate in your goal
    • Advisors are people who will advise on or approve your goal
    • Or perhaps this is an individual goal just for yourself! If this is the case, you can skip the contributor and advisor prompts.

Landing and Closing Goals

You can close goals directly from Slack

Landing a goal provides essential learnings to the whole team to set the stage for your next set of goals.
